People, people, and more people
You can't see them well but there are people everywhere on that bridge...people people people people people. I went for a walk in a local market area. I must've stumbled on the home improvement market. One stall at the pvc pipe, another had the air conditioners, another had the light fixtures. And then there were the food stands with people clamoring for what looked like chicken legs but they almost looked fake because there were so many in the bins. On my way back to the hotel tonight, my taxi driver gave me a culture lesson in how Halloween and Christmas are drinking holidays to the Chinese. I did see a package of "gummy body parts" in a store earlier this afternoon though...

View from room
A big breakfast and a swim
I slept an hour last night since arriving at the hotel and then about an hour this morning. I was starving in the middle of the night and starving at breakfast. I was very grateful for the large spread of food for breakfast here at the hotel although I did not partake in the Vietnamese meatloaf and I admit the boiled eggs had a funny taste (I think it's related to the water which has a slightly funny taste as well). I went for a swim and the poor pool boy had to sit and watch me do laps for 30 minutes. Not that he had anything else to do but I guess his job is lifeguard as well. I also managed to lock the safe in the room this morning without changing the code and then locked myself out of the room (anyone who has been overseas knows how you have to use the room key to turn the electricity on in the room). Now it's onward to the convention center! Photos tonight, I'm sure.
Michelle arrives in Hong Kong
It's almost 1:30 am so there won't be any photos tonight but I will take some tomorrow and post them. My flight from San Francisco was delayed several hours but Cathay Pacific gave me a voucher for lunch and I was told fewer people would be on the plane since they had been booked to other airlines because of connections. I had a row of three to myself. I slept about six hours of the 14 1/2 so it went by pretty quickly although I was a little shaky getting off the plane. I took a train and taxi to the hotel where I am now. More tomorrow after some sleep! The conference starts in the afternoon so I will try to take some photos of the harbour (I'm staying near it).
